Dr. Emily Guerard

Dr. Guerard is a caring, compassionate, and dedicated oncologist. She grew up in Wisconsin and received her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin. She completed her medical residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin where she did an additional year of training in the Geriatric sub-specialty. Dr. Guerard also completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During her fellowship, she received the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Merit Award. Dr. Guerard has multiple peer reviewed publications in respected medical oncology journals. She is a quadruple board certified physician.

She joined Cancer Care Specialists after working as an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin. She feels fortunate to be working with an incredible group of physicians, nurses, medical staff, and patients! She enjoys the relationship she develops with her patients over a long period of time. She has a keen interest in oncology clinical research to provide the most cutting-edge therapies to her patients. She remains an active member of the Washoe County Medical Society, Alliance Cooperative Group for Clinical Trials, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

When not working, Dr. Guerard enjoys hiking with her 3 dogs and husband around Lake Tahoe. She is an avid equestrian and enjoys the sport, Show Jumping.
